Adding high protein low carb shakes to your diet can help you to lose weight in many ways and this low carb chocolate avocado protein smoothie certainly fits the bill. Protein helps to boost your metabolism, minimize your cravings, and lose body fat without losing muscle.

The best way to incorporate protein into your diet is with a smoothie, such as this Low Carb Chocolate Avocado Protein Smoothie by Kinesiologist Danni Feinstein. Danni had a host of health problems and was frustrated by the lack of organized information and mis-information on how to deal with them. After doing a lot of research and experimentation she managed to cure herself of most of them.

Not surprisingly she discovered that a low carb diet suited her. This smoothie is high in healthy fat and low in carbs, so it’s especially recommended for those who are following the keto diet or Paleo diet. It will provide you with the right amount of protein while helping you to stay in ketosis.

Collagen Protein Powder

A good quality collagen protein powder for using in this recipe is this one from Perfect Keto. It comes from grass-fed cattle (in the USA) and has added MCT and is sweetened with stevia. It contains no additives of any kind.

Clinical studies have proven collagen strengthens bones, joints and ligaments, improves gut lining and connective tissues, as well as improves your skin health.

Real Salt

Danni recommends Redmond RealSalt for this recipe which, if you haven’t come across it before, is the only pink salt from an ancient sea in USA. It’s important to use salt from ancient sea beds because regular sea salt now contains plastic fibers. I can’t think why anyone would want to eat that!  You could use Himalayan salt instead which also comes from an ancient sea bed.

Filtered Water

I recommend that you use filtered water because in spite of what you may have read about it being safe to drink and all that, tap water contains all sorts of toxins. If you don’t believe me then you only have to read the backed by science information which Sayer J of Green Med Info writes in this article.
