This keto sausage balls recipe is the perfect way to satisfy your meat cravings while sticking to your keto diet.
Most keto dieters rely on protein-rich fatty meats. Sausages can be made from various meats like pork, chicken, turkey, or beef. Therefore, they qualify as keto-friendly food.
However, you must pay attention when picking out the sausage meat from the grocery store. Some contain, breadcrumbs or starches, various binding agents and additives that help keep the meat together and enhance the taste. As a result, some of these contain carbs that can be detrimental to your keto diet
The best way to ensure that the sausage is keto-friendly is to make it yourself. That way, you can guarantee that all ingredients are low in carbs. Below is a keto sausage balls recipe from London Brazil (love the name!) of the Revolving Table you can follow.
Are Sausages Keto-Friendly?
Sausages are generally keto-friendly since they are made from protein-rich meat. But as mentioned, some store-bought sausages are made of carbs that could potentially kick you out of ketosis.

If you don’t have the time to make your sausages and would prefer to buy from the store, you should carefully check the nutrition labels before buying one. Determine what the ingredients are and see if any of these ingredients contain carbs.
Also, know the grams of fibre and subtract it from the total amount of carbs to arrive at the net carbs or the exact number of carbs you will consume after eating that sausage.
Some sausage varieties that are low in carbs include chicken sausage, pork sausage, and chorizo. These are the best choices for those following a low-carb diet like keto.
Grass-fed and free range meat
The keto diet is often referred to as the bacon and butter diet as many starting out on the diet eat a lot of bacon and butter because they are familiar and tasty foods.
However, if you have decided to follow the keto or a low carb diet to lose weight or improve your health then it’s better for you if you choose meat that is grass-fed or poultry that is organic and free range.

Where did sausage balls originate?
There are a number of suggestions as to how these balls came about but the most prevalent one is that the recipe was invented by General Mills in 1931 to sell more of their Bisquick product.
Apart from that sausage balls were popular in the South East area of the United States where they figured on party menus for Christmas, New Year, weddings, pot lucks and tailgate parties.
How to Incorporate Sausage into your Keto Diet?
While sausages are a staple food for breakfast, you should not limit yourself to breakfast. You can also have sausages for lunch, dinner, or snacks! The great thing about sausages is that everyone loves them, so you can share them with your friends and family, including those not following any low carb diet.

I have tweaked the ingredients a little to add organic ingredients. They contain more nutrients and are better for you. The Redmond salt comes from ancient sea bed that dose not contain pollutants nor micro-plastic fibers. The more toxins you can avoid the better.
